Still More Necklaces
I have so many gorgeous, gemmy beads right now; I can't stay away from them! Here are a couple more necklaces I made yesterday.
This one is very delicate; the rondelles measure just about 2mm in diameter and the pendant is 13mm tall.
Don't you just love the color in these sapphire beads? Wow! This one is a little larger than the first one, but still on the dainty side.
Both will be listed soon in my Etsy shop.

More Loot...
From my favorite local stone cutters... (Can you tell I had a fun/successful shopping trip this morning?)
I couldn't resist buying more of this incredible rhodolite garnet, even though I haven't yet used what I bought the last time around.
... and still more.
All of these stones are available for custom order jewelry pieces. If you see something you love, please email me for more information!

Gem Show, Part 1
I went to a local gem show yesterday and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and selection I found at several booths. I'm going to separate my findings into a couple of posts; first, I'm going to show off the gorgeous cabs I bought, most of which are available for custom orders.

Cabs, beautiful cabs...
New cabs! I went shoppin' yesterday and here's what I found... (all are available for custom order rings unless noted otherwise)
The biggest pink tourmaline cabochon I've ever seen
(14mm x 16mm, 16.5 carats, and tentatively spoken for)

The dust has settled (buffing compound dust, that is) and here's what I came up with today...

Tourmaline Slice Necklaces
I bought these incredible tourmaline slice beads a couple of weeks ago, and I have them for sale in my bead shop, but the steep price tag seems to be a deterrent (and understandably so; they certainly aren't cheap). I couldn't stand for them to sit in a dark drawer any longer, so I used a few yesterday to make some simple but elegant necklaces.

New Designs!
I've been working hard to catch up on some custom orders, plus create some new pieces, and today I finally have some things to share...
I've been wanting to experiment more with non-shiny finishes lately; partly because I find them more visually interesting, and partly because it's a pain in the butt to get a perfect mirror finish on everything I make! I like the way this turned out.
I'm not sure about this one. It's a beautiful, large smoky quartz cab, but something is missing... I'm going to try oxidizing it and polishing it to bring out the texture of the band and see if that helps.
Another Caribbean blue moonstone ring (rainbow moonstone over a thin layer of blue resin); this one is spoken for but I made another similar one to list in my shop.
Chrysoprase & oxidized sterling silver bracelet with chyrsoprase, labradorite, & Thai silver danglies.
...and another view of the same. Bot the earrings and bracelet above were inspired by this necklace; I just love the contrast between the blackened silver and the glowy chrysoprase.

Finally some more new rings
I have been waiting ever-so-impatiently for my new buffing wheels to arrive so I could finish a few rings that have been almost-done for a long time. Here are a few of my favorites...
I love this one - the stone is SO amazing. It's an Afghan blue tourmaline cab set on a wide, dotty band. I'm definitely planning to go get more stones like this. All of the silver is recycled (yay!)... This is a tiny ring - only a size 4.5 (and the wide band makes it fit even smaller, probably more like a 4) - I hope someone out there with tiny fingers (or perhaps an affinity for pinky rings?) will find this ring and give it a home!

New Rings
Green tourmaline and sterling silver ring, size 7.5(The dots are fabricated and applied by hand and they go all the way around the band; I should have photographed the back too but I didn't.)
